A Featured Blog! #DiverseBookBloggers

Whitney at Brown Books & Green Tea has featured The Misfortune of Knowing! Check out the post to find out what my children are reading these days, what classics (if any) I would recommend to readers interested in multicultural themes, and what my favorite post is.

I highly recommend following Whitney’s blog and reading her #DiverseBookBloggers features.

  1. Such a wonderful way to get to know you more, Amal! I am in awe of how you manage to stay in top of so many things and still post such thought-provoking posts. Love learning to view things through the legal lense with your guidance and also about the specifics of US law😃

  2. You might want to look at Mildred Pitts Walter, an excellent story teller of children’s books. As an adult I have enjoyed reading them to grand children and learned a bit of stuff not in history books. I just read “Justin and the Best Biscuits in the World.” “Justin’s sisters and his mama are always fussing at him. No wonder he’s glad to go visit Grandpa’s ranch.” Author tells about a very special grandfather (who is a colored-cowboy) and about a boy’s struggle to make it in a “man’s world” –even though he is surrounded by women. Some other book titles are “Lillie of Watts; “The Girl on the Outside”; ” Because We Are; “; “My Mama Needs Me.” The books are beautifully illustrated and we know children love pictures in a book. Enjoy your reading!
